STAY THE CURSE: THE SKY IS FALLING ON THE EMPEROR WITHOUT CLOTHES IN HIS STATE OF DENIAL

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

Edmund Burke

1. IT WAS A MISTAKE TO BOMB IRAQ.
2. THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION LIED TO BOMB IRAQ.
3. THERE ARE MORE TERRORISTS IN IRAQ AND THE WORLD THAN BEFORE IRAQ WAS BOMBED AND OCCUPIED.
4. AFGHANISTAN IS NOW A LAND OF POPPIES AND TERRORISTS AGAIN.
5. THE WAR MACHINE NOW HAS A PERPETUAL CASH COW:
TERRORISTS
TERRORISTS
TERRORISTS.

MY COUNTRY RIGHT OR WRONG?

“The power of the executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers, is in the highest degree odious, and the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist.”

Winston Churchill

I am wearing
black today.
I am mourning what has become of my country.
Especially after yesterday when the U.S. Senate unheroically, blindly and repugnantly voted yes for the Detainee Bill.
I am working at a school and today is
spirit day.
We are supposed to wear our school colors red, white and blue.
O.K.
I am
blue today.
I am a
white person.
And my country has become a vessel and producer of
red blood and tears.
No thanks to my senators, representatives, and "leaders".

CUT AND RUN! FASCISM IS HERE!

The irony of it all is that despite the smear talk of Hitlers in the Middle East, the leader whose thinking process most resembles Hitler's is our own president. Like Hitler, Bush's ideological beliefs have blinded him to reality, and like Hitler, he seems impervious to advice that conflicts with his beliefs. There the resemblance ends, of course, but it is bad enough. Hitler learned that he couldn't win a two-front war, and Bush will learn that he can't democratize the Middle East with bombs and bullets.

As Crazy As It Sounds,
Bush May Bomb Iran For Israel

By Charlie Reese/9-27-6/rense.com

George W. Bush BELIEVES THAT BAD IS GOOD.
The N.I.E. report just informed us that the IRAQ WAR IS BAD.
George W. Bush and his propagandistic marionettes are spinning the N.I.E. report so that it fits his and their deceitful and delusional agenda.
In the Twilight Zone and Land of Oz administration of George W. Bush
WAR is BAD and BAD is GOOD.
(Where are you tonight George Orwell?)
Before they escape and scurry off into the sunset to plan for their November election, the U.S. Senate passed a new and improved anti-torture and detainee law.
This law will permit the Decider, if he chooses, to put American citizens into prison when he decides that they (you and I!) are illegal enemy combatants:
“A dangerously broad definition of “illegal enemy combatant” in the bill could subject legal residents of the United States, as well as foreign citizens living in their own countries, to summary arrest and indefinite detention with no hope of appeal. The president could give the power to apply this label to anyone he wanted.”
EDITORIAL/NEW YORK TIMES/Rushing Off a Cliff/ Published: September 28, 2006

“Until Congress passes this legislation, terrorists ... cannot be tried for war crimes in the United States and the United States risks fighting a blind war without adequate intelligence,"
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.

But five years have passed!
Why haven’t these terrorists already been tried? (They certainly have hung and dried for some time.)
The new law will exonerate the Decider and his cabal from any future unpleasant criminal charges.
It’s a Cover-Their-Ass-Stay-Out-Of-Jail-Pass-Law.
IT IS EASIER AND EASIER for the Long War President TO BE A DICTATOR.
Thank you very much U.S. House and Senate
Scoundrels!

POSTCRIPT:
In a January 2002 memorandum to George W. Bush, Attorney General of the United States Alberto Gonzales emphasized that this new war on terror "renders obsolete Geneva's strict limitations on questioning of enemy prisoners and renders quaint some of its provisions."

The military has lived with the Geneva Conventions provisions for 50 years and applied them to every conflict, even against irregular forces. Why are we suddenly afraid now about the vagueness of its terms?
Tom Malinowski/Director of the Washington office of Human Rights Watch.

GOOGLING

I did some googling yesterday.
I wanted to compare how many web sites there were for the words God, Satan, Good, Evil, Love, Hate and Sex.
Here’s what I found:
God had 566,000,000.
Satan had 34,400,000.
Good had 2,340,000,000.
Evil had 266,000,000.
Love had 1,460,000,000.
Hate had 211,000,000.
Sex had 665,000,000.
I will leave it up to psychologists and sociologists to decide what these numbers mean.
Good, Love and Sex had the highest number.
Poor Satan is a loser with only 34 million.

COME WHERE THE ACTION IS: COME TO IRAQ!

"I'm the commander you see, I don't need to explain. I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president."
George W. Bush

"Some people have, you know, guessed what's in the report and have concluded that going into Iraq was a mistake. I strongly disagree. I think it's naive.”
[George W. Bush
Press Conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai
September 26, 2006]

You are absolutely right, Mr. Long War President.
IT WAS NAIVE TO GO INTO IRAQ!
Jerking and smirking at his press conference, the Decider was on the defensive.
The Long War President wants to keep soldiers dying in his Iraq War until Doomsday.
The Long War President is in denial (once again) about truths reported in the N.I.E or the National Intelligence Estimate on terrorism.
The NIE is a formal document that represents the consensus opinion of all 16 U.S. intelligence agencies.
Bush is beating the same hollow drum with the same broken drumsticks.
It brought to my mind the attack by the living dead in the movie of the same name (except for the missing words night and of) who are trying to get into a house to eat the remaining few who are still alive.
The Decider is possessed with relentless and voracious self-delusion.
And so are Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleeza Rice.
What will it take for these lying idiots to accept the facts of not only the N.I.E., but the opinions from former generals…and, now…a majority of the
American people!

THE PUNCTUATOR

Honey, you need to study your grammar book before you use any more punctuation marks to express your political ideas.
Yeah, I know.
I meant to say that a semi-colon, not a comma, is what Iraq will mean when its history is written.
Or just a period.
So my comma was half-right.
I was only missing a period.
I’m sure History will understand me.
It already understands how inept I am at using words.
O.K.
Now teach me about these intestinal colons and runny sentences.

NO MORE BEATING AROUND THE BUSH

When the Long War President has attached his name to signing statements which are on nearly every new U.S. law, is it any longer inaccurate or unfair to attach the word dictatorial to his name?
As of 2006, George W. Bush has issued over 130 signing statements containing more than 750 constitutional challenges.
[en.Wikipedia.com]
We citizens still have Freedom of Speech.
Americans can call their president a liar, a crook, a dictator or a devil without being arrested.
The United States of America is not a dictatorship yet.
But anyone who gets too close to the nucleus of government secrets and government conspiracy may experience an untimely demise or at least receive menacing threats.
The Decider (perhaps he really does mean Dictator) might get his compromise on torture this week.
So much for international laws and the Geneva Convention that are too vague for the Long War President.
But there should be NO compromise of any kind on torture.
Alright…if there was an individual or group who knew that a nuclear or chemical bomb was in the U.S., then do everything under the sun except decapitation to extract information.
The Decider, however, doesn’t want to face any possibility in the future in which he or his administration could be prosecuted with crimes of torture.
George W. Bush isn’t the Devil, but he has leased portions of his soul to
El Diablo.
NO MORE BEATING AROUND THE BUSH.

"Creating immunity retroactively for violating the law sets a terrible precedent. The president takes an oath of office to uphold the Constitution; that document requires him to obey the laws, not violate them. A president who knowingly and deliberately violates U.S. criminal laws should not be able to use stealth tactics to immunize himself from liability, and Congress should not go along."

DEVILS

“The day Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I’ll kill myself. All we need is one more liar.”
Helen Thomas

Gas prices are dipping;
Fear-mongering is not.
Elections are coming; so are
Terrorists.
Presidential diablos Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez
Spewed inflammatory scripture to inflate their own egos and denounce the ego of another devil.
PRISON PLANET.COM cites its own scripture:
Is Rove's October surprise the political assassination, dirty bomb, biological release or terror attack forecast in a 2005 Republican memo, touted to "reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush," and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
Will the Neo-Fascists again overplay their hand in a desperate lunge to rescue their power monopoly or is Rove's plan infinitely more sophisticated?

[PRISON PLANET.COM/September 21, 2006]
This is wild, whimsical and wishful self-fulfillment.
The actual reason that Republicans might maintain a majority in Congress is because voters are fickle and fatuous.
Voters pay as much attention to good political advertisements and clever sound bites as they do to facts.
Dramatic displays of artful and astute propaganda can persuade as well as any offers of common sense and logic.
Dodging the issues is also a good ploy.
Put the voters’ attention on an asteroid approaching earth--- or on a belligerent leader who wants to get his own way come hell or high water.
Calling the Long War President the devil or a fascist helps the president and his constituents. This kind of support is unexpected and welcome.
Denunciations become sympathy magnets.
The enemy is them not us.
The enemy is them, not NeoCon Republicans or their Long War President.
Lastly, there are always those electronic voting machines.
They might be the most favorable factor of all in the November elections.
Maybe this is a dictatorship.
It’s time to win the lottery.

MORE DICK AND BUSH TORTURE

"Our country is at war and our government has the obligation to protect the American people. Anything we do to that end, in that effort, any activity we conduct, is within the law."
George W. Bush

"Yep, we gotta do whatever it takes to protect the people, my people, the American people.
Dick is big on this torture thing.
This is a different war.
That Geneva Convention is for them old wars.
Now we have murderers and terrorists who want to see Americans die.
Torture is in the eye of the beholder, and I behold evildoers who want to stop peace and democracy from developing in Iraq.
We will stop the insurgents, and we will not torture ourselves on this matter about torture.
If it takes torture to defeat the terrorists and insurgents, then torture it will be.
Dick, you can take your foot out of my mouth now."

A NEVER-ENDING ELLIPSIS AND THE URINARY EXECUTIVE

"The safety of America depends on the outcome of the battle in the streets of Baghdad."
George W. Bush-September 11, 2006

"When the final history of Iraq is written it will look like a comma."
George W. Bush-Interview with Wolf Blitzer-September 20, 2006

CORRECTION:

WHEN THE FINAL HISTORY OF IRAQ IS WRITTEN IT WILL LOOK LIKE A NEVER-ENDING ELLIPSIS!

“I have come to believe that our presence is part of the problem and that we should begin to seriously devise an exit strategy. There's a civil war in Iraq and our presence is contributing to the violence. We've become a lightning rod—we're not restricting the violence, we're contributing to it. Iraq has galvanized jihadists; our presence is what is attracting them.”

SECTS AND VIOLENCE

Some nuts on the Internet are saying that the Pope is working for the Illuminati (whoever this might be).
That's why he made his comments about Muhammad, so say the nuts.
Personally, I don't like Muhammad that much. [Muhammad's name appeared in Haggai 2:7 under the hebrew word mahmad which means praised one. Muhammad is Arabic for praised one].
I haven't read the Koran, but I read somewhere that Muhammad did lead an army somewhere in some battle.
I thought to myself (many years before September 11, 2001), "This is a bad dude."
Of course, I wouldn't use the word dude today.
But he is still not one of my favorite people.
Christ was a good guy.
It's the people who fight wars in his name that are the bad guys.
Or people who say that the Son's Father told them to do this or that.
Know anyone who does (or did) this?
There is enough violence and sects in the world.
The Pope should be more careful about what he says.
Illuminate don't instigate.

NO MORE WARS

"Freedom, by its nature, cannot be imposed.
It must be chosen."
George W. Bush
9/19/2006
Address to the United Nations

George W. Bush once again sounded very good.
His speech writer is very good.
But the above lines, which came at the end of his address to the United Nations, stick out like sore thumbs.
Did America impose its freedom on the Iraqi people when cruise missiles were launched by George W. Bush in his unprovoked pre-emptive attack on the nation of Iraq?
Did the Iraqi people choose freedom on that infamous first day of this long and horrendous war?
THE ANSWER TO THE FORMER IS YES!
THE ANSWER TO THE LATTER IS NO!
Mr. President, the world has seen what you have done.
The world listens to your words, but it doesn't believe a liar.
All of your words sounded wonderful.
It's too bad reality doesn't match your rhetoric.
The world now fears that you will bomb Iran.
The world does not need any more fear or fear of bombs.
The world needs a reprieve from war.
NO MORE WAR.

Neocons seek maximum chaos and instability in the Middle East in order to justify long-term US occupation of the region. Following this line of thought, neocons would regard the loss of a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf as a way to solidify public support for the war. US public anger at the Iranians could even result in US public support for a military draft in order to win "the war on terror."

Neocons claim that tactical nuclear weapons are necessary to destroy Iran's underground facilities. However, the real reason for using nukes against Iran is to intimidate Iran from retaliating and to threaten the entire Muslim world with genocide unless Muslims bend to the neocons' will and accept US hegemony over their part of the world.
In his speech to the United Nations, Hugo Chavez might not have been too deep into hyperbole when he described Bush as an example of demonic evil.

Is the Bush Administration Itching to Nuke Iran?
A Crisis Upon Us

By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS
[Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration. He was Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page and Contributing Editor of National Review. He is coauthor of The Tyranny of Good Intentions.

FRIENDS AND FOES

The government of the United States handpicks its friends and enemies.
The American taxpayers foot the bill.
Both political parties are guilty.
President Reagan secretly aided Iran by selling weapons to that country in order to fund the Contras.
The C.I.A. handpicked Saddam Hussein:

While many have thought that Saddam first became involved with U.S. intelligence agencies at the start of the September 1980 Iran-Iraq war, his first contacts with U.S. officials date back to 1959, when he was part of a CIA-authorized six-man squad tasked with assassinating then Iraqi Prime Minister Gen. Abd al-Karim Qasim.

The U.S. shut a blind eye when Hussein used chemical weapons (made from some materials that came from the United States):

How did Iraq get its weapons? We sold them

The Sunday Herald
September 8, 2002
By Neil Mackay and Felicity Arbuthnot

THE US and Britain sold Saddam Hussein the technology and materials Iraq needed to develop nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.
Reports by the US Senate's committee on banking, housing and urban affairs which oversees American exports policy reveal that the US, under the successive administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush Senior sold materials including anthrax, VX nerve gas, West Nile fever germs and botulism to Iraq right up until March 1992, as well as germs similar to tuberculosis and pneumonia. Other bacteria sold included brucella melitensis, which damages major organs, and clostridium perfringens, which causes gas gangrene.
The shipments to Iraq went on even after Saddam Hussein ordered the gassing of the Kurdish town of Halabja, in which at least 5000 men, women and children died. The atrocity, which shocked the world, took place in March 1988, but a month later the components and materials of weapons of mass destruction were continuing to arrive in Baghdad from the US.

The chessmen are moved when the U.S. government needs to keep a friend or destroy an enemy.
The Taliban were ignored until they backed off from supporting the construction of an oil pipeline through Afghanistan.
The poppies didn't bloom so abundantly in Afghanistan as they do now.
The Taliban wouldn’t allow them to bloom.
But now the Taliban gets money from those same poppies.
Drug dealer Noriega was a friend until Bush Senior sent him packing.
Then there was Somoza.
Then there was Pinochet.
Then there was Marcos.
There was George W. Bush.

TERRORISTS AND KILLER VEGETABLES

Terrorists.
Cigarettes.
AIDS.
Cholesterol.
Speed...
On the highway and in your body.
AND THEN THERE IS SPINACH!
Popeye just got a black eye.
But wait, he didn't eat fresh spinach.
Whew! Thank goodness!
The little bugger that has recently contaminated the leafy green is the bacterium called E.coli.
I hated the taste of spinach until I lived in Afghanistan.
A part of my very first meal in Kabul was spinach with lots of the buttery-tasting oil from a lamb's tail.
I ate it.
I liked it!
What I didn't like was the little pebble that I crunched on.
This was one word in Farsi I never forgot:
sang.
Now I eat a can of spinach every week.
POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN...

THE WAR ON TERROR IS MY PRIDE AND JOY OBEY ME

"I think the very kindest thing that we can say about George W. Bush and all the people in the U.S. Government that have been involved in this massive cover-up, the very kindest thing we can say is that they were aware of impending attacks and let them happen. Now some people will say that’s much too kind, however even that is high treason and conspiracy to commit murder."
Col. Robert Bowman, PhD, U.S. Air Force (ret)

(Director of Advanced Space Programs Development "Star Wars Program" under Presidents Ford and Carter. U.S. Air Force fighter pilot with over 100 combat missions. PhD in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering, Cal Tech).

You see, you Press fellows and the Supreme Court can be my buddies as long as you obey me.
I am your Decider.
I am your Long War President.
I won't allow any former Secretary of State stop me from bringing the evil terrorists to justice, or deter me from my goal of avoiding impeachment for illegal Torture and illegal Surveillance.
The Decider likes the Supreme Court when it elects him.
The Decider doesn’t like the Supreme Court when it challenges his hubris and illegal ways.
The Long War President must have everything his way or it’s the highway...and
Guantanomo Bay!
I will say and do anything to stop these appeasing-the-enemy Democrats.
Shotgun Dick is cocked and loaded.
I've got to stay on my horse.
I have got to stay on course.
I am on my way to Victory in Iraq.
The Terrorists are coming!
The Terrorists are coming!
We have to fight the terrorists there and not Here!
I am a wind-up toy!
Feed me some pretzels!
Global War is my pride and joy!

MORE READING BETWEEN THE LINES

It's always a pleasure to be introduced into the Rose Garden.
(It’s those nasty thorns that I hate.)

I was so honored to meet with… first responders…all who still had heaviness in their heart.
(And asbestos in their lung.)

Right here in the Oval Office, I get briefed nearly every morning about the nature of this world…

(And I learn how messed up nature has become.)

Time is running out.
(And so am I in 2008.)

We didn't ask for this war.

(But I decided to give it to you anyway.)

This debate is occurring because of the Supreme Court's ruling that said that we must conduct ourselves under the Common Article III of the Geneva Convention. And that Common Article III says that there will be no outrages upon human dignity. It's very vague. What does that mean, "outrages upon human dignity"?

(Does that mean that we can’t almost drown our enemies? Or zap their gonads with electricity? To avoid prosecution of any war crimes, we have to be specific about what our interrogators can and cannot do.)

I must say, having gone through those gyrations, you're looking beautiful today, Dave
(Maybe we can touch base at dinner later.)

There's no doubt in my mind we needed to make sure the Patriot Act was renewed to tear down walls that exist so that intelligence people could serve -- could share information with criminal people.

(So that intelligence people could share information with criminal people? Did I just hear myself say that?)

"The world is beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism. To redefine Common Article 3 would add to those doubts. Furthermore, it would put our own troops at risk."

MORE VOMIT AND FLAWED LOGIC FROM BUSH

"IT'S UNACCEPTABLE TO THINK..."
George W. Bush
The Rose Garden
September 15, 2006

If a majority in the House of Representatives or the Senate is not achieved by the Democrats in November, then the American people will continue to choke on the rhetorical and dictatorial vomit of Bush.
Not a pleasant image or description, I know, but the truth is quite often puky and offensive.
The Long War President, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld (and others) deserted the Global War on Terror when they removed the attack on Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and substituted their pre-emptive Shock and Awe bombing of Iraq.
Now, both Afghanistan and Iraq are DISASTERS.
The Long War President is as dumb about the real situation in Iraq as he is about Global Warming.
And Dick Cheney is wrong once again:
IRAQ AND SADDAM HUSSEIN DID NOT THREATEN AMERICA.
Again, lying Dick, you are dead wrong:
IRAQ DID NOT THREATEN AMERICA.
Saddam Hussein was in a box (and later in a hole). He may have had nefarious ambitions, but his military had already been eviscerated by Daddy Bush.
Self-delusional megalomaniacs have taken over our country.
They point their pontifical and hypocritical fingers at their critics.
But if these powerful, insatiable and lying psychopaths are not censored and investigated (and yes, IMPEACHED) for their misconceived and deceptive stratagems, then the United States of America will have reached a moribund stage of its brief life.
If the grip of the GOP and George W. Bush’s cabal is not ejected, then it will continue to project its foul vomit upon the American people and the Constitution of the United States…oh…and
THE WORLD!

"For more than 200 years our nation has adhered to the fundamental principle that our government is one of laws, not men. The Administration and Warner bills threaten that tradition by stripping the federal courts of jurisdiction to hear pending habeas cases brought by Guantánamo detainees. If enacted, these bills would authorize the life-long detention of more than 450 men who have been imprisoned in Guantánamo for nearly five years without ever having been charged with an offense or receiving a fair hearing. This is unconscionable. Every person detained by our nation must receive a fair hearing--one that does not rely on secret evidence or evidence obtained by torture or coercion--because fairness and due process are what America stands for. We would demand nothing less for members of our military if they were captured abroad by our enemies. Congress should reject any provision that abandons habeas corpus."

ONE STORMY NIGHT AND GOODBYE FROGS

I remember the night when I was in line at Wal-Mart buying some batteries.
A beautiful thunderstorm had been brewing just before I entered the store.
Then there was a thunderbolt.
It shook the building.
The power went out.
It was my turn to pay the cashier for my batteries when the cash register conked out.
I don't know why (the mind works in strange ways), but I picked this moment to say to the cashier, "You know, frogs can tell you a lot about the health of the earth. When they're dying you know there's something wrong in the environment."
Behind me a voice piped up "You better stop talking, or I'll have someone who’ll stop you."
I turned around and saw the woman, and figured that it was her husband that she was referring to who would stop me from saying any more about frogs.
I didn't see her better half yet, but I took her at her word, and I let the subject of frogs jump out the window (if there had been any).
I paid for my batteries and leapfrogged out of the store.
I still don't know why frogs and what I had said about them agitated this woman so much.
Maybe she raised frogs and I was stepping on some webbed toes.
But frogs have come home (not to roost).
Amphibians are in the news again.
My comment that stormy night was accurate and ominous.

“For the first time in modern history, because of the way that humans are impacting our natural world, we're facing the extinction of an entire class of organisms. This is not the extinction of just a panda or a rhino; it's a whole class of organisms. Certainly if it were impacting mammals, we would be taking this a lot more seriously.”

LIES LIES LIES LIES

“DON’T COME AND BOTHER US.
WE WILL KILL YOU.”

The Long War President’s address on Monday limned the landscape for World War III (Or IV…Or V).
The Decider carefully read his written speech.
He didn't blink much.
He had his hands carefully positioned on the desk behind which he sat.
He was very serious.
He again told us about this perpetual war (or at least HIS perpetual war).
The Long War President reminded us ONCE again that the United States would continue fighting in Iraq until there is COMPLETE VICTORY.
COMPLETE VICTORY.
COMPLETE VICTORY…
UNTIL THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED.
UNTIL THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED.
UNTIL THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED…
CLICHES!
CLICHES!
AND MORE CLICHES!

And fear!
Fear of Terror.
Fear of Leaving Iraq…
BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE.
BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE!
BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE!

How can we believe a perpetual liar?
We can’t.

FED UP

I am fed up with Bob's erectile dysfunction epiphanies.
I am fed up with testimonials for Geico (though I still like geckos).
I am fed up with our do-nothing-but-spend-our-money United States Senators and Representatives.
I am fed up with denials about Global Warming.
I am fed up with All-knowing and Sanctimonious radio talk show hosts.
I am fed up with the administration of George W. Bush (but I dread the one that will follow it).

9-11 AND THE ABODE OF UNTRUTH

"It is already possible to know beyond a reasonable doubt one very important thing: The destruction of the World Trade Center was an inside job, orchestrated by domestic terrorists. The welfare of our republic and perhaps even the survival of our civilization depend on getting the truth about 9/11 exposed."

DAVID RAY GRIFFIN
Author of The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11

September 11, 2001: For 35 minutes, from 8:15 AM until 9:05 AM, although widely known within the FAA and the military that four planes have been simultaneously hijacked and taken off course, no one notifies the President of the United States. It is not until 9:30 AM that any Air Force planes are scrambled to intercept, but by then it is too late. This means the National Command Authority waited for 75 minutes before scrambling aircraft, even though it was known that four simultaneous hijackings had occurred -- an event that has never happened in history.
[CNN; ABC; MS-NBC; Los Angeles Times; New York Times]

The exercises that went on that morning simulating the exact kind of thing that was happening so confused the people in the FAA and NORAD....that they didn't know what was real and what was part of the exercise.
I think the people who planned and carried out those exercises, they're the ones that should be the object of investigation.
If I had to narrow it down to one person....I think my prime suspect would be Dick Cheney.

Early July 2001: A briefing prepared for senior US government officials:
"Based on a review of all-source reporting over the last five months, we
believe that [bin Laden] will launch a significant terrorist attack
against US and/or Israeli interests in the coming weeks. The attack will
be spectacular and designed to inflict mass casualties against US
facilities or interests. Attack preparations have been made. Attack will
occur with little or no warning." As the weeks go by, intelligence
information given to senior officials show that al-Qaeda continues to
expect an imminent attack on US interests. [Senate Intelligence
Committee, 9/18/02, Washington Post, 9/19/02]

Nov. 2, 2001, 12:00 PST -- On Oct. 31 the French daily Le Figaro dropped a bombshell. While in a Dubai hospital receiving treatment for a chronic kidney infection last July, Osama bin Laden met with a top CIA official -- presumably the chief of station. The meeting, held in bin Laden's private suite, took place at the American hospital in Dubai at a time when he was a wanted fugitive for the bombings of two U.S. embassies and last year's attack on the USS Cole.

Sept. 6-7, 2001 - Put options (a speculation that the stock will go down) totaling 4,744 are purchased on United Air Lines stock, as opposed to only 396 call options (speculation that the stock will go up). This is a dramatic and abnormal increase in sales of put options. Many of the United puts are purchased through Deutschebank/A.B. Brown, a firm managed until 1998 by the current executive director of the CIA, A.B. "Buzzy" Krongard. The business of America is business.

The Pentagon and its suppliers had a lot of business because of 9-11.
There are a few who believe that Vice President Dick Cheney “coordinated” the attacks while a dazed Commander-in-Chief was busy reading to a classroom of children in Florida.

"I was sitting outside the classroom and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was on.” [CNN, 12/4/01] “When we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building.” [White House, 1/5/02] There was no live coverage of the first crash on TV and President Bush was in a classroom reading with children at the time of the second crash.
The Long War President was also in a daze a few days before 9-11:
On August 6, 2001 Bush was given a national security memo that warned of a possible attack by al-Qaeda during the next few weeks using hijacked aircraft by al-Qaeda agents already inside the United States. Bush responded by taking a long vacation at his ranch in Crawford.

President Bush receives classified intelligence briefings at his Crawford, Texas ranch indicating that Osama bin Laden might be planning to hijack commercial airliners. [CBS News; CNN, May 15, 2002]

The Decider has been vacationing for six years now.

Except when he gives his propaganda speeches before hand-picked pro-war audiences.
Monday the Long War President will give one more speech.
But America is no longer supporting the Long War President’s War or his Abode of Untruth.

Late July 2001 : David Schippers, noted conservative Chicago lawyer
and the House Judiciary Committee's chief investigator in the Clinton
impeachment trial, later claims that FBI agents in Chicago and Minnesota
contact him around this time and tell him that a terrorist attack,
involving aircraft, is going to occur in lower Manhattan. According to
Schippers, the agents had been developing extensive information on the
planned attack for many months. However, the FBI soon pulls them off the
terrorist investigation and threatens them with prosecution under the
National Security Act if they go public with the information. As a
result, they contact Schippers hoping he can persuade the government to
take action. Schippers tries to pass the information on to high
government officials but apparently his efforts are ignored. Partly in
conjunction with Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm, Schippers
is now representing at least ten FBI agents in a suit against the US
government in an attempt to have their testimony subpoenaed, which would
enable them to legally tell what they know without going to jail.
[Judicial Watch, 11/14/01

August 2001: Russian President Putin later states that during this
month, "I ordered my intelligence to warn President Bush in the strongest
terms that 25 terrorists were getting ready to attack the US, including
important government buildings like the Pentagon." [MSNBC, 9/15/01] He
states that suicide pilots are training for attacks on US targets. [Fox
News, 5/17/02] The head of Russian intelligence also states, "We had
clearly warned them" on several occasions, but they "did not pay the
necessary attention." [Agence France-Presse, 9/16/01] A Russian newspaper
on September 12, 2001 claims that "Russian Intelligence agents know the
organizers and executors of these terrorist attacks. Moscow warned
Washington about preparation to these actions a couple of weeks before
they happened.

August 2001: The CIA issues a report warning the White House,
Pentagon and Department of State that bin Laden is intent on launching a
terrorist attack soon, possibly inside the US. [Sunday Herald, 9/23/01]

August 6, 2001: President Bush receives classified intelligence briefings
at his Crawford, Texas ranch indicating that bin Laden might be planning
to hijack commercial airliners. The memo read to him is titled "Bin Laden
Determined to Strike in US", and the entire 11 page memo focuses on the
possibility of terrorist attacks inside the US (his normal daily security
briefings run two or three pages).

"No one could have conceived of planes as a weapon."

NAZIS FASCISTS AND TERRORISTS

George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, had the assets of the family business seized by the U.S. Government under the Trading With The Enemy Act of 1941. Much of the Bush family fortune was made by dealing with Nazi Germany -- both before and during World War II.

A recent Ipsos-Public Affairs poll released by the Associated Press shows that 60 percent of Americans believe that Bush's invasion of Iraq has created more terrorism and that Americans are less safe as a result of invading Iraq.

The Decider's voice is getting louder and louder.
The fire in which he may fry is getting hotter and hotter---
Closer and closer.
The worms are coming out of the woodwork.
The vultures are beginning to circle.
All is not well in Camelot.
The Long War President and his Neo Con men are slinging arrows of outrageous accusation.
The majority of fighters in Iraq are now its own citizens, but the LWP is calling them Islamic Fascists.
And Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and the LWP are associating the persons (who oppose their policies) with Nazis
And
Communists
And
Fascists.
APPEASERS!
And these are the same names that the Long War President is tagging on the terrorists.
And suddenly, Osama bin Laden is now under the LWP's microscopic eyes.
It's time to play the terror and fear card!
It's time to brush off the bin Laden script that has been silent for years.
Another spider hole (or cave) is being readied.
An election is in November.
The voters have to be reminded that the Cowboy Decider in the White House still has his finger on the button.
And they must obey him.
They must not question his authority.
They must believe that the Long War President is still their all-knowing and all-powerful Protector and Decider.
Beware the Ides (and Ideas) before November.

MORE MISSILE ENVY

What can you do with $80,000,000?
How many firecrackers could you buy?
This is the price tag for the latest test of the Pentagon’s anti-missile defense system.
One side of me says hurray and one side of me says holy s**t!
The latter opinion is my reaction to the cost of the defense missile system for the previous five years: $43,000,000,000.
But the yea side of me is stronger than the nay side.
It is better to have the capacity to defend against incoming missiles than not to have any capacity.
In the long and short term it is best for U.S. security to have a system that can destroy missiles that want to kill Americans.
Give kudos for this new system.
Let’s hope that it only gets better and better.
North Korea and other nations may think twice before they start any missile lobbing.

CROCODILE TEARS

The words great and tragedy are overused.
He was great.
This or that was great.
It was a great tragedy.
But both of these words cannot be overused to describe the death of Steve Irwin.
The whole world loved this guy.
He was so positive and amiable.
Once again the good has died young.
I never wanted the Crocodile Hunter to get hurt when he stood in front of all of those hungry crocs.
But I was amazed that he so rarely got hurt.
Like the boyish John Denver (whom Steve Irwin resembled), we have lost a young heart of gold.
All of the planet's crocodiles are crying...
Yes, real crocodile tears.

HAPPY LABOR DAY

Labor.
Birth, occupation, task, and work are some of the synonyms in Roget’s Thesaurus.
There’s a labor of love and love’s labour’s lost.
I like Dylan Thomas’s use of labor in his poem IN MY CRAFT OR SULLENT ART.
Here is the first half of the poem that contains labour.

In my craft or sullen art
Exercised in the still night
When only the moon rages
And the lovers lie abed
With all their griefs in their arms,
I labour by singing light
Not for ambition or bread
Or the strut and trade of charms
On the ivory stages
But for the common wages
Of their most secret heart.

I labored this Labor Day weekend.
I was working hard at winning on one Keno machine.
I spent five hours of labor and $300 of my hard-earned labor until I hit 6 spots.
I had wagered the maximum bet of $1.00.
I had labored for so long, that when I finally got what I had been laboring for, I blinked when the last number lit-up to make sure that I had finally gotten the reward for my labors.
I know that I wasn’t really working. But the IRS thinks so.
I will pay for my winning numbers this tax year. However, I don’t think it’s fair.
All of the money in that machine was filled with money that had already been taxed once.
Citizens labor hard for their dollars, and we shouldn’t have to pay taxes twice for the labor we have already done and paid taxes for.
We should get paid for Labor Day, too.
Happy Labor Day!

DRUGS FOR MONEY BUT THE CHICKS AREN'T FREE

Attention all opium and heroin addicts:
Go to Afghanistan for your fix.
The Taliban was a deterrent to drug cultivation and consumption before the U.S. invasion.
But the Taliban became the enemy and poppies bloomed.
The United States is not without blemish when it comes to drugs and war.
Allegations have tied drug-running with the C.I.A. and wars.
In fact, a few conspiracy theorists allege that the connection hasn’t ended.

The
WAR ON DRUGS has gone on and on for decades.
Now there is the (perpetual)
WAR ON TERROR.
Both wars have created profits for the Pentagon and many corporations.
War and drugs are two peas in a pod:
THEY MAKE MONEY!

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) --
Opium cultivation in Afghanistan is spiraling out of control, rising 59 percent this year to produce a record 6,100 tons -- nearly a third more than the world's drug users consume, the U.N. said Saturday (9-2-06).

ClA-supported Mujahedeen rebels [now, 2001, part of the "Northern Alliance"] engaged heavily in drug trafficking while fighting against the Soviet-supported government and its plans to reform the very backward Afghan society. The Agency's principal client was Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, one of the leading druglords and a leading heroin refiner. CIA-supplied trucks and mules, which had carried arms into Afghanistan, were used to transport opium to laboratories along the Afghan/Pakistan border. The output provided up to one half of the heroin used annually in the United States and three-quarters of that used in Western Europe.

FACES OF FASCISM

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty.
Edward R. Murrow

A room has a full-length mirror on every wall.
When you look into the mirrors you will see the ugly
FACES OF FASCISM.
The faces belong to pompous and self-righteous leaders.
The ogre-like reflections of these faces
bounce off of the other mirrors in the room,
and this will go on forever, just like the perpetual war
that these bellicose physiognomies have conceived.
Now I know the true meaning of these words by George Orwell:
“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.”
