Donald Rumsfeld is no thumbsucker.
He is an arm and hand waver.
He is a joker...
But he's not a midnight toker.
(Can you hear Steve Miller singing?)
The roof could be falling down and the floor falling in, but Mr. Rumsfeld would still give us a smile and some laconic soundbite.
His feathers are not easily ruffled.
Generals come and go, but people such as Donald Rumsfeld stay.
Donald Rumsfeld might be (or do) some of the following:
He's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
He's a wooly and wily bureaucrat.
He's a nonplused "never make any mistakes" fellow.
He's an enigmatic speaker:
"But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know."
He's sometimes dumb and dumber:
"I can't tell you if the use of force in Iraq today will last five days, five weeks or five months, but it won't last any longer than that."
Sometimes he can be right on the money:
"It is easier to get into something than to get out of it."
He's guilty of war crimes.
He is an arm and hand waver.
He is a joker...
But he's not a midnight toker.
