International polls show that the rest of the world regard the US and Israel as the greatest dangers to world peace. Americans claim that they are fighting wars against terrorism, but it is US and Israeli terrorism that worries everyone else. The rest of the world knows that the wars are about US and Israeli hegemony and that the US and Israel are prepared to engage in whatever acts of terror are necessary to achieve hegemony.
Paul Craig Roberts
It has been a very busy week at my high school where I teach, and so I haven't had too much time to read about (let alone contemplate) the news.
I haven't had time to ponder how the U.S.A. is getting its guns loaded and cocked---all primed and pretty---for its next war.
The war rhetoric is heating up.
George W. Bush wants to leave the Oval Office trailing flames of glory.
The Democrats and Republicans---and all but a couple of the presidential candidates---are endorsing bombing Iran.
Here "we" go again.
But this time our going may get us gone.
George W. Bush wants to be recorded on radioactive computer chips as the leader who tried to stop World War III by starting World War III.
The Decider's terrible grins are tanned and tenacious; his warnings are a preamble for more Shock-and-Awe Pre-Emptive War.
He is confident.
He acts comfortable as he once again gives clamorous and cocky warnings.
I know I'm not supposed to care or be surprised, and everyone tells me "There's nothing that you can do."
Historical Inevitablility?
Biblical Revelation?
Pipe drippings and sniffing pipes?
We (and they) are now so inured to all of the badness that we do not believe that goodness can prevail.
The towel has been thrown in and our arms are in the last throes of their shruggings.
But the planet (at least its humans) still needs to be saved from destroying itself.
Dr. Strange
Loves are
Well and alive.
BUT...
Jesus tried to tell us…
Gandhi tried to tell us…
John Lennon tried to tell us…
Martin Luther King tried to tell us...
All four died trying to tell us
To bring peace into
This warring world.
This was well before
IslamoFascism...
This was before long before
9-11’s Crash!
This was long before
Petroleum's Cash!
This was all before
Bush's Balderdash!
Pray for Peace
But expect
MORE
WAR!
MORE
WAR!
MORE
WAR!
WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE?
WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN?
It's the oil stupid!
